Arne Engels nearing Celtic exit with English club 'close to signing midfielder' in latest transfer development

It remains to be seen if any Club will rival West Ham to get the signature of Arne Engel’s.

Forrest’s top target is Lucas Bergvall so it is a mystery if Nottingham Forrest still want to purchase the Celtic midfielder.

While West Ham United have expressed strong interest in signing Arne Engels, several key factors suggest a move to East London right now would be a step backward for his career development:

Sacrificing Champions League Football: At Celtic, Engels gains crucial elite-level experience competing in the UEFA Champions League. A move to West Ham would mean dropping down to the EFL Championship following their recent relegation.

Belgian National Team Prospects: At 22, Engels is aiming to cement a permanent place in Belgium’s senior national squad. Playing second-tier English football could harm his international momentum compared to starring on Europe’s biggest stage.
Crucial Role & Silverware: Engels is a focal point at Celtic—operating in midfield, taking key penalties, and competing for trophy sweeps every season. Moving to a relegated team rebuilding under pressure brings instability and no guarantee of immediate success.

Great website, Engles is an important player to Celtic. I wouldn’t let him go for for anything less than 25 million as you said. When he was injured we really missed him. I’ll bw gutted if he goes.

We’ll miss him when he goes, hopefully the quality of signings continues into the middle of the park as we will badly need it there.

I’d love to see the club go out and sign him.
We all know that he’s a good player and so does MON.
Ferry was very good for Utd tonight, let’s see how he gets on in the next couple of weeks, maybe worth a try.

For what it’s worth I think he should be aiming higher than the Championship
